| Puppy Classes mixture of playful beginning obedience, socialization, problem prevention and development of self-confidence building skills for puppies 12 weeks to approximately 6-8 months. It is a fun, laid back, no pressure educational training environment that gives owners the ability to share experiences and problems. Agility Classes Agility training is a great way to exercise and build a strong communication between the dog and the handler! It is a sport in which a dog runs through a timed obstacle course as commanded by the handler. It is suitable for ALL breeds and mixed breeds, large and small. Pet Camp’s owner and trainer Silke Schröder has been trained by National Champions and other training celebrities in this exciting sport. AKC Canine Good Citizen Course The purpose of the Canine Good Citizen Test is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog can be a respected member of the community because it is trained to act mannerly in the home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs. The program embraces both purebred and mixed-breed dogs alike. Dogs participating should know basic commands i.e. sit, heel, down, stay and come. Demonstrating confidence and control, the dog must complete these 10 steps: Accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, out for a walk (on a loose leash), walking through a crowd; Sit, down, and stay on command, coming when called, reaction to another dog, reaction to distractions, supervised separation. Intermediate Obedience Classes Through games we will secure and practice all of our obedience commands. All dogs need to be dog and people friendly and must be able to sit, down, stay and come on lead. Summer Camp for Kids and their Dogs Every summer we hold five day camps for children eight and older from 9:30a.m.-11:30a.m. The children will learn how to communicate with their dogs, they will be introduced to agility and obedience training. Lots of fun activities will be offered. All dogs MUST be friendly! Behavioral Consultations and Private Training If you experience specific problems with your dog or if you would like to have undivided attention, we offer training sessions composed to suit each individual customer’s need. We may focus on obedience, agility skills, or on changing and dealing with problem behaviors. Boarding and Training We offer a flat fee Boarding and Training Program which will include strong support and individual classes after your dog returns home from a two to four week stay with us. He or she will have PLENTY of fun play-time between training sessions. It is very important to understand that the dog will be well behaved for us when they go home, but you, the owner need training to be able to communicate properly and effectively with your pooch, otherwise you will become frustrated and your dog will regress very quickly. |
